Praying daily is the key to spiritual development. Regardless of how strong and mature you may become as a Christian, you will never be so spiritual and holy that you will not need to pray. Jesus, the Son of God, prayed everyday! Prayer is a privilege that God has given us. The scriptures say in Hebrew 4:16- "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." It's not hard to pray... just talk to the Lord. You don't need any fancy words ... just talk like you would normally talk to anyone. Also don't feel bad if you don't know how to pray... even the disciples had to asked Jesus how to pray! (Luke11:1). There is a great prayer guideline in Matthew 6:9-15.
++ How To Pray:
1- Preparation: + If possible, find a quiet place and prepare a truthful heart to pray not just do it because of duty. + Invite the Holy Spirit to guide your prayer. (Romans 8:26-27).
PRAYER's Sample:
2- "Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name" (Matthew 6:9). Open your prayer with praise. Praise and worship God for who He is, the Creator of all things.
3- Be thankful. Be thankful for what He has done for you and for what He has promised you in His word. Thank Him for providing for your daily needs. Thank Him for everything!
4- Confess daily your sins to Him. Ask forgiveness for your mistakes and shortcomings. Ask Him to help you in your daily walk as His child and to overcome temptations in this world. (1Corinthians 10:12-13; James 4:7; 1John 1;9).
5- Ask God to help you help others. Pray for others such as your family, your church and fellow Christians, your pastor, and your co-workers. Anybody and everybody that you want God to help. This is called intercessory prayer (Matthew 7:7-8; Colossians 1:3,4:3). Ask God to help you to be patient and do not doubt when asking (Hebrews 11:6; James 1:5-6).
6- Freely have a heart to heart praying to God like a loving trusted friend. + Sometime, just be silent and enjoy been with God, and ask Him to fill you with His Holy Spirit.
7- Close your prayer "In Jesus' name; Amen."
Your prayers will find their way to God through the name of Jesus, because He has promised:
+ John 14:13 -- "And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father."
+ (Amen = Exclamation; May it be so; I certainly agree with that;... -- a word used at the end of prayers and Hymns).
+ (Note: Prayer is Talking to God, so we can pray respectful to God without any specific rules, but knowing the Bible and some Prayers' methods will help and encourage our prayer's life, and strenghen our Faith in Christ Jesus).
Make a commitment to pray daily... you will grow so much as a Christian if you do... and remember, God wants you to talk to Him... He loves you!
++ The Bible teaches about Prayer:
+ Pray in Quiet Place (Mat.6:5), in spirit and in Truth (John 4:24):
+ John 4:24: "God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."
+ Matthew 6:5-8: "6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him."
+ Matthew 6:9-13 - The Lord's Prayer:
"9 Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."
+ Psalm 23 - Protection and Peaceful Prayer:
"1 The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever."
+ Psalm 19 - Praise God and His perfect law:
1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands....
+ 7 The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
8 The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes.
9 The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the LORD are sure and altogether righteous....
+ 12 Who can discern his errors? Forgive my hidden faults.
13 Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then will I be blameless, innocent of great transgression.
14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer."
+ For new Christian: Remember that you are a baby Christian and you aren't ready to eat the heavy meat of God's word. First off, a new Christian needs to start reading the first four books of the New Testament (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John). In these books you will find out who Jesus really is. You will find out what He did while here on earth and why. Then read the book of Acts for church history by the power of Holy Spirit. You can also read the book of James for Christian Life Application, and the book of Ephesians for salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Study these books and then finish reading the rest of the New Testament. To understand the Bible and see the big picture of God's plan, Christian should read the New Testament in synchronize with the Old Testament because the New Testament keeps refer to the Old Testament stories and God's fulfilled promises. The Psalms are very helpful for prayers and praising God. (Note: There are many good Bible Reading Plans those will satisfy your need, please ask and check them out.)
+ Essentially your Bible is your guidebook. It contains everything you need to know... about the past... your present... and future. Take time and read the Bible. The scriptures say in the New Testament in 2.Timothy.2:15: "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth." We once heard a preacher say that everyday reading God's word is a good day. Reading is another way to grow as a Christian.... so READ your Bible.
+ Remember, the best and most effective way to Learn the Bible is to Teach the Bible (preparing to teach the Bible for yourself and others).
++ Learning the Bible is essential for Christian's Biblical Faith.
++ The Holy Spirit Inspired and guided Writers (Translators) and Teach The Bible --
(The True Holy Bible will inspire readers' spirit):
+ 2 Timothy 3:15-17 (The Bible is God's Word):
"15 And that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
+ 16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."
++ The Holy Spirit and the Bible:
+ John 14:26 --
"But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
+ John 16:13-14 --
'13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you."
+ 2 Peter 1:20-21 --
20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation.
21 For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
+ Matthew 4:4 (The Bible is spiritual food):
"Jesus answered, "It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’" (Deut 8:3)
+ 1 Corinthians 2:12-13 --
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
13 These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
+ Ephesians 1:13 --
In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.
+ John 14:15-17 (Love for Jesus and the Holy Spirit) --
"15 If you love Me, keep My commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever --
17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you."
+ Revelation 3:22 --
"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."
++ The Bible is spiritual light to avoid sin and help to repent:
-- Psalm 119:11,105: "11 I have hidden Your word in my heart that I might not sin against You.
+ 105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path."
-- Psalm 19:12-13:
" 12 Who can discern his errors? Forgive my hidden faults.
13 Keep Your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then will I be blameless, innocent of great transgression.
14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
-- James 4:7-8: "7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Come near to God and He will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded."
-- 1 John 1:9-10:
"9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar and His word has no place in our lives."
++ The Bible and obedience bring God's blessing:
-- Psalm 1:2-3: "2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers."
-- Joshua 1:8: "Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful."
+ Hebrews 4:12 (The Divine Power of God's Word):
"For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
++ The Bible commands and helps to Evangelize:
-- Matthew 28:19-20: "19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
-- John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
-- Psalm 22:27-28: "All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations will bow down before Him, 28 For dominion belongs to the LORD and He rules over the nations."
-- Psalm 98:2: "The LORD has made His salvation known and revealed His righteousness to the nations."
++ The Bible reminds the dwelling of the Holy Spirit in Christians:
-- Acts 1:8: "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
-- John 14:15-17, 26: "15 If you love Me, you will obey what I command.
16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever --
17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you know Him, for He lives with you and will be in you. + 26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you."
+++ The Bible warns against false gods, idolatry, false doctrines, false prophets, deceiful teachers, impostors, evil spirits, antichrists,... :
-- Mark 13: 5,6,21,22,23: --
5 And Jesus, answering them, began to say: "Take heed that no one deceives you.
6 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and will deceive many.
-- 21 Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘Look, He is there!’ do not believe it.
22 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
23 But take heed; see, I have told you all things beforehand."
-- John 5:42-44: --
"42 But I know you. I know that you do not have the love of God in your hearts.
43 I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not accept Me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him.
44 How can you believe if you accept praise from one another, yet make no effort to obtain the praise that comes from the only God?"
-- Romans 16:17-18 : --
17 And now I make one more appeal, my dear brothers and sisters. Watch out for people who cause divisions and upset people’s faith by teaching things contrary to what you have been taught. Stay away from them.
18 Such people are not serving Christ our Lord; they are serving their own personal interests. By smooth talk and glowing words they deceive innocent people.
-- 1 Corinthians 11:4: --
For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.
-- 2 Corinthians 11:13-15: --
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ.
14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.
++ Ephesians 4:11-15: --
11 It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers,
12 to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up
13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.
15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, that is, Christ.
-- Ephesians 5:6-8: --
6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient.
7 Therefore do not be partners (partakers) with them.
8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light
-- 2 Thessalonians 2:9-14: --
9 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders,
10 and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.
11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie
12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.
++ 13 But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.
14 He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
-- 2 Timothy 3:12-13: --
12 In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,
13 while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
++ 1 John 4:1: --
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
-- 2 John 1:7-8: --
7 Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist.
8 Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully.
-- Colossians 2:6-8: --
6 As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,
7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
-- 8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.
-- 1 Timothy 4:1-2: --
1 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.
2 Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.
-- 1 John 2:26-27: --
26 These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you.
27 But you have received the Holy Spirit, and He lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what He teaches is true -- it is not a lie. So just as He has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.
-- 1 Peter 2:1-4; (5-22): --
1 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them -- bringing swift destruction on themselves.
2 Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.
3 In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.
4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment;...

Elijah went before the people and said, "How long will you waver between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal is God, follow him." But the people said nothing."
-- Jeremiah 14:14 :
Then the LORD said to me, "The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds."
-- Jeremiah 27:15 --
"I have not sent them," declares the LORD. "‘They are prophesying lies in my name. Therefore, I will banish you and you will perish, both you and the prophets who prophesy to you."
-- Jeremiah 29:8-9 : --
8 Yes, this is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: "Do not let the prophets and diviners among you deceive you. Do not listen to the dreams you encourage them to have.
9 They are prophesying lies to you in My name. I have not sent them," declares the LORD.
-- Deuteronomy 11:26-27: --
26 Look, today I am giving you the choice between a blessing and a curse!
27 You will be blessed if you obey the commands of the LORD your God that I am giving you today.
28 But you will be cursed if you reject the commands of the LORD your God and turn away from Him and worship gods you have not known before.
(26 You have a choice -- do you want the LORD to bless you, or do you want Him to put a curse on you? 27 Today I am giving you His laws, and if you obey Him, He will bless you. 28 But if you disobey Him and worship those gods that have never done anything for you, the LORD will put a curse on you. )
-- Deuteronomy 13:1-4: --
1 If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a miraculous sign or wonder,
2 and if the sign or wonder of which he has spoken takes place, and he says, "Let us follow other gods" (gods you have not known) "and let us worship them,"
3 you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The LORD your God is testing you to find out whether you love Him with all your heart and with all your soul.
4 It is the LORD your God you must follow, and Him you must revere. Keep His commands and obey Him; serve Him and hold fast to Him.

10 - BIBLE READING PLANS:
The church is not just an institution established by man. The church was established by God for man. The word *church* means the "called out ones". And that is what we are... the called out ones... remember the Holy Spirit called you out to know more about Jesus. Christ is the founder and head of the church. It is so important where you get your spiritual instruction and direction. All churches are not the same! A church should be committed to the preaching and teaching of the truth of God, the Holy Bible. One should find true preaching and teaching, good Christian fellowship, support and encouragement from their church. Another thing to remember... the scriptures say in Hebrews 10:25- "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another -- and all the more as you see the "Day" approaching."
+ So pray, find and get into a church that teaches God's Word..... Find a church that is concerned about you spiritually and physically. And get involved! God established the church so that all His children could come together to worship Him in truth and spirit. When you start attending church... go to Sunday school... it will help you grow as a new Christian. Do not take the church for granted... God made it for you... Praise the Lord!
+ Acts 2:41-47: The First Christian Church:
"41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.
42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
43 Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles.
44 All the believers were together and had everything in common.
45 Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.
46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,
47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."
(+ Note: The First Christian Church was fully empowered and guided by the Holy Spirit so they can live as a Christian community in unity, love, peace and love of God. But watch out for false prophets and deceitful spirits + 1John 4:1 +)
++ Read more about the churches belong to Christ:
-- 1 Corinthians 1:2-3:
"2 To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be holy, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ -- their Lord and ours:
3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ."
-- Matthew 16:18:
"And I tell you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it." (There are many different theological interpretations for this verse).
-- Revelation 3:20-22:
"20 Listen! I am standing at the door, knocking; if you hear My voice and open the door, I will come in to you and eat with you, and you with Me.
21 To the one who conquers I will give a place with Me on My throne, just as I Myself conquered and sat down with My Father on His throne.
22 Let anyone who has an ear listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches."
As a testimony to your new birth as a Christian, everyone should be baptized. To be baptized is to symbolically bury the sinful man and to birth a new creature in Christ. In Matthew 28:19 the scripture says: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Also Jesus was baptized... and we are to try to be like Jesus! Be baptized... it is a privilege of the believer! And after baptism, you are spiritually qualify to receive the Lord's Supper (1Corinthians 11:23-29).
+ In case of emergency or difficult situation (deathbed illness, living in isolated places, or can not go to a Christian (or house) church because of special or personal reasons), and after having a quick lessons of Basic Christianity of Faith (like the Apostles Creed), if believing then the new believer can be baptized without delay. -- Note: By the power of the Holy Spirit, new believers of the first Christian church was baptized at once (Acts 2:41; 8:12,35-39).
+ Remember that Christians are "Saved by Grace through Faith, not by works" (Eph.2:8-9), so different style of Baptism will not change God's love and promise of salvation for believers, but true believers will always try their best to obey God's commandment and Jesus' example (be Baptized!) (Matthew 3:13; Mark 1:8-11).
++ The Bible teaches that there are two Baptism: + By Water, and + By The Holy Spirit (through PRAYER - "ask and it will be given to you" Mt.7:7):
++ The Great Commission: -- Matthew 28:19: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,"
++ Matthew 3:11:
"I baptize you with water for repentance, but One who is more powerful than I is coming after me; I am not worthy to carry His sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire."
++ John 3:5-6: Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit."
++ Acts 1:5:
"For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit."
++ Titus 3:4-7:
"4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared,
5 He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy, through the water of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
6 This Spirit He poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 so that, having been justified by His grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life."
++ Ephesians 4:1-7:
"1 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.
2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
4 There is One Body and One Spirit -- just as you were called to One Hope when you were called --
5 One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism;
6 One God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
7 But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it."

Hold on to God. Hold on to what you have... namely salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. Don't give up or give in to the world. If you desire to grow in the Lord you will spend time in the Word and in prayer. You are precious in the Lord's eyes... in fact you are now His child (John 1:12). As a new convert you will have to learn that obedience to God is not always the easiest way, but remember it is the best way. God loves you and knows what's best for you. Trust in Him... He says He will never leave you or forsake you. Believe and have faith! God is true! He won't ever let you down. Just keep on walking those baby steps... keep on praising the Lord... keep on attending church... keep on reading the Word... keep on praying daily.... keep on holding on... and soon you will be a mighty Christian for the glory of our dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
And remember that the devil will do everything in his power to drag believers out of their faith: to sin, to backslide, to lukewarm, to doubt, ... But God promise if we pray to Him daily, He will forgive us our sin and His Holy Spirit will help us to win the spiritual battle (Ephesians 6:10-18), to grow in faith (Romans 10:17), to be set free (John 8:31-32) from sin and temptation, to be born again (2Corinthians.5:17; 1Peter 1:23), and to live a blessed and fruitful Christian life (John 15; Galatians 5:22-26).
+ John 15:4-5: "4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
5 I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing."
+ Romans 10:17: "So then Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of Christ."
+ Hebrews 11:6: "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.
+ Galatians 5: 1; 5; 22-26:
+ 1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
+ 5 But by faith we eagerly await through the Spirit the righteousness for which we hope.
+ 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.
25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other."
+ Matthew 7:24-27:
"24 Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.
26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.
27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."
+ John 14:12-21:
"12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in Me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
13 And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.
14 You may ask Me for anything in My name, and I will do it.
+
15 "If you love Me, you will obey what I command.
16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever
17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you know Him, for He lives with you and will be in you.
18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
19 Before long, the world will not see Me anymore, but you will see Me. Because I live, you also will live.
20 On that day you will realize that I am in My Father, and you are in Me, and I am in you.
21 Whoever has My commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves Me. He who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I too will love him and show Myself to him."

+ John 6:65-69; Matthew 13; 1Peter 5:7-9; Ephesians 6:10-20 +
(Deny Jesus; Parables of the Sowers and the Seeds; Spiritual Warfare).
Doubts. Everyone at one time or another if they are honest have doubts about themselves and their salvation. Maybe they aren't growing like they think they should, or maybe they just don't feel saved. Just stop thinking that right now! Don't DOUBT what the Bible says. If the Bible says you can call upon the name of the Lord and be saved, and you prayed that prayer earlier with an honest heart and really did mean it, then dear heart, YOU ARE SAVED!! Don't let the devil or anyone else take away what you have received from the Lord Jesus Christ. The devil (and may be some of the people you know) would like nothing better than to see you give up what you have because you don't feel saved, or because you become frustrated. Don't let that happen.
+ James 4:7-8:
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
+ 8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
+ James 1:6-8
6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;
8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
+ Jude 1:20-25
20 But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, Pray in the power of the Holy Spirit,
21 and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.
22 And you must show mercy to those whose faith is wavering (doubt).
23 Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still others, but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives.
24 Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into His glorious presence without a single fault.
25 All glory to Him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are His before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen.
+ Ephesians 6:10-20 (Spiritual Warfare)
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.
11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
19 Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel,
20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

Not those who talk about prayer; nor those who say they believe in prayer; nor those who explain prayer; but those who actually take the time to pray. These are the people today who are doing the most for God in winning souls, in solving problems, in awakening churches, in supplying both men and money for mission posts, in keeping fresh and strong their lives far off in sacrificial service on the foreign field, where the thickest fighting is going on, and in keeping the old earth sweet a little while longer.” S.D. + “Depend upon it, if you are bent on prayer, the devil will not leave you alone. He will molest you, tantalize you, block you, and will surely find some hindrances, big or little or both. 1. Reason To Study The Bible:
+ 2 Timothy 3:15-17:
+ 15 And that from childhood you have known the HOLY SCRIPTURES, which are able to make you wise for SALVATION through FAITH which is in CHRIST JESUS.
++ 16 All SCRIPTURES is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
+ 17 That the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
+ Psalm 119:11, 105:
+ 11 I have hidden Your Word in my heart that I might not sin against You.
+ 105 Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
+ John 14:26-27
++ "26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will TEACH you all things and will REMIND you of everything I have said to you.
+ 27 PEACE I leave with you; MY PEACE I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
2. PRAY - Answer These Three Questions:
1. What did it mean originally? (Exegesis & Commentary)
2. Where is Jesus in this passage? (Hermeneutic)
3. What does God say to me in this passage? (Exposition & Meditation)
3. FOURTEEN BASIC RULES FOR BIBLE STUDY:
1. If possible have a regular, private place for your Bible studies. Before each study ask God to give you a spirit of humility while reading His word and guide your heart to comprehending, accepting and practicing His precious truth.
2. Start with Bible verses that are easy to understand when studying on a particular topic. Then, use these scriptures to understand harder, vaguer passages of God's word.
3. Let the Bible interpret and prove the Bible. Don't look for what YOU want to prove; look for what the Bible actually proves.
4. Seek to understand the general context of a particular Bible verse by reading the verses and chapters just before and after it. Does your understanding of a Bible passage harmonize with the rest of Scripture? Remember, the Bible DOES NOT contradict itself!
5. Study the original language (Hebrew or Greek) words and their meaning(s) behind a Bible verse. Remember, however, that although study aids like Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible can be helpful, they should not be exclusively used to discover and prove what the Bible teaches.
6. ASK, what does the scripture you are studying clearly say?
7. ASK, what does the scripture you are studying NOT say?
8. ASK, to whom was the Bible book containing the scripture you are studying written to? Who wrote the book? Who is speaking the scripture(s) in question?
9. Seek to understand the general time frame in history when the Bible verses you are studying was written.
10. Remember that the Bible at times uses parables, allegories, symbols, poetry, metaphors and other figures of speech and literary techniques to reveal God's truth.
11. Don't bring your own personal assumptions and preconceived notions into your understanding or conclusions. 12. Base your study on scriptural knowledge that you already understand. WHAT DO YOU KNOW UP TO THIS POINT IN TIME?
13. Do not form conclusions based on partial facts or insufficient information, or the opinions and speculations of others.
14. Remember that your or anyone else's convictions, regardless of how strong they may be, don't necessarily count. GOD'S WORD is your ultimate standard and guide.

People set a goal to read the entire Bible for different reasons. Some believe that spiritual nourishment is found within its pages. Others enjoy the beauty of its poetry, the excitement of its stories and the rich history it contains. It provides the fuel for theological debates and philosophical study for many. The challenge, however, is getting through the long genealogies, lists of rules and regulations and difficult passages it contains. If you've decided to take on this challenge, here is a guide that will help you to accomplish your goal.
1. Have a Plan
To read the entire Bible, you need to set specific reading goals. This keeps you on track when you are tempted to wander. According to BibleGateway.com, some Bible reading plans take you through the Bible in 1 year or less. To accomplish this, you'll need to read about three chapters per day. Even if you only read a chapter per day, however, you can read through the entire Bible in about 3 years. Reading one chapter a day takes between 5 and 10 minutes. This may be the ideal choice if you believe you're too busy to accomplish the task.
2. Make Your Plan Flexible
Don't be hard on yourself if you miss a day or two. If consistency is a challenge, pick up where you left off and continue on your journey through the Bible. Eventually, you will complete the entire Bible if you commit to reading and you take it easy on yourself when you miss a day.
3. Choose a Translation That Is Easy to Read
Reading through the entire Bible provides enough of a challenge without making it harder on yourself. While the beauty found in the language of the King James Version may be attractive, the old English may provide a stumbling block for you. Instead, you might find it easier to read a more modern translation. Many choices of Bible Translations to consider are: Wold-ForWord, Thought-For-Thought, or mixed between the two. Picking a Bible you can understand and that is comfortable to read is essential.
4. Choose a Plan With Variety
You can read through the entire Bible from cover to cover. However, you may find it simpler to choose a Bible reading plan that schedules readings from multiple parts of the Bible each day. For example, some reading plans incorporate readings from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs in each session. This type of plan seeks to give you something interesting in your reading every day.

The Steps to Know His Word Better:
+ Psalm 119:11 - "I have hidden Your word in my heart that I might not sin against You."
+ 3 Ways to Read the Bible:
++ 1) Read the Bible. 2) Listen to the Bible. 3) Do both.
1. Step One: Get Your Materials.
You will need a good, easy-to-read translation. If you are beginner, choose the translation with Thought-For-Thought first, then once you get to know the Bible and become more at ease, then switch to a better translation with Word-For-Word. Make sure the translations have CD or MP3 voice available.
2. Step two: Set Your Time and Place.
Find a quiet place so you can be clear of distracting thoughts and desires! Engaging His Word is all about the Supremacy and Centrality of Christ; He is our Lord and the center of Scripture. Thus, we must come before God with our eagerness and expectancy. This is not to be a chore; it is fellowship with the Creator of the universe, and what better time could there be!
To be consistent in Reading and Listening to the Bible regularly, we must make time for it and keep it up -- not make excuses and keep that up.
3. Step Three: Select the Book.
Select the Book that you wish to learn about, and then read it with a passion to want to know Him and His percepts better. It is best to start with the New Testament before you venture into the Old Testament.
4. Step Four: Read it.
Start with the gospel: Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John, and read it through in one sitting at least once. If this is your first time, you may want to start with John and/or just plow though the New Testament.
5. Step five: Play it and Listen.
After you read it, listen to it. It is best to listen to an entire book at one sitting. You can play your Bible Book over every day, and in a month, you will know it well. We also suggest you listen through the entire Bible one book at a time; this will take you two months (smaller books you can double or triple up on).
Imagine that you can know God’s most precious Word with little effort. If you do this every day, you will have listened to His entire Word in a month or two; just let the tape play and allow his Spirit to come into you.
6. Step Six: Discover what our Lord has to say.
The easy part is to read and listen; the hard part is to apply it.
It is usually not what the Bible says that troubles Christians; it is being convicted of His precepts. We must be willing to not only read, but also to obey God’s decrees! It is not about you, it is about God! Make it your choice and work hard with your will surrendered to His! To start to learn more, use the Basic Inductive process by asking the text some questions! You can also use this method to memorize portions of Scripture.
7. The Overview of the Basic Inductive Bible Study Questions:
1. What does this passage say?
2. What does this passage mean?
3.How does this apply to me?:
1. Book Study.
The Bible contains many books. Yet the divine plan of God to redeem men in Christ Jesus runs through the whole of it. Be careful to consider each book as a part of the whole. Read it through. Following these suggestions will help make your study more meaningful:
Which book would you particularly like to study using this method? (It is best to start with one of the shorter ones.)
2. Chapter Study.
To get a grasp of the chapter, answer the following questions:
Choose a chapter from the book, and apply these questions.
3. Topical Study.
Take an important subject - such as grace, truth, prayer, faith, assurance, justification, regeneration, or peace - and, using a topical Bible and a concordance, study the scope of the topic throughout the Bible.
You will find it necessary to divide each topic into sub-topics as you accumulate material; for example, forms of prayer, prayer promises, examples of prayer in Scripture, Christ's teaching on prayer, Christ's ministry as we pray, the ministry of the Holy Spirit in prayer.
What topic do you plan to study first? How much time have you scheduled for it?
4. Biographical Study.
There are 2,930 people mentioned in the Bible. The lives of many of these make extremely interesting biographical studies. Why is it important to study the characters of the Bible (I Corinthians 10:11, Romans 15:4)?
Using a concordance, topical Bible, or the proper name index in your Bible, look up every reference in the Bible of someone you would like to study.
Name the person you would like to study. State your reason for choosing that particular person. Answer the following questions:
5. Life Application:
What method interest you the most now?
How do you expect to benefit from serious study of the Bible?
Select one method and use it over the next week. Use the other methods the following weeks. Remember, always study the Bible with the following on hand: pencil, notebook, prayer, purpose.
+ Psalm 119:105 - "Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path."

The Old Testament Can Be Divided Into Five Parts:
Pentateuch:
The first five historical books, written by Moses, are also called the books of the Law.
Genesis | Exodus | Leviticus | Numbers | Deuteronomy
Historical Books:
The next twelve books tell of the establishment of the kingdom of Israel, of Israel's repeated turning from God to sin, and finally of the Assyrian and Babylonian exiles -- God's punishment.
Joshua | Judges | Ruth | 1 Samuel | 2 Samuel | 1 Kings | 2 Kings | 1 Chronicles | 2 Chronicles | Ezra | Nehemiah | Esther
Poetry:
Of the next five books, Psalms -- the Hebrew hymn book -- is probably the best known.
Job | Psalms | Proverbs | Ecclesiastes | Song of Solomon
Describe how God may have used any of these books or sections to comfort and strengthen you in a difficult situation.
Major Prophets:
Written shortly before Israel was taken into captivity and during the exile, these books prophesied the coming Messiah and other world events. They also contain warnings of impending disaster if Israel did not turn from her wicked ways.
Isaiah | Jeremiah | Lamentations | Ezekiel | Daniel
Minor Prophets:
These last twelve books of the Old Testament are called minor prophets only because they are shorter, not because they are less important. They are mainly concerned with Israel and the coming Messiah. Read one of the books from the choices below, and summarize it's main points.
Hosea | Joel | Amos | Obadiah | Jonah | Micah | Nahum | Habakkuk | Zephaniah | Haggai | Zechariah | Malachi
The New Testament Can Be Divided Into Five Parts:
Gospels:
The first four books of the New Testament tell of Christ's life and ministry.
Matthew | Mark | Luke | John
What was Jesus last command to His disciples in Matthew? How does this apply to you today?
Acts:
This history of the early church, which also describes the ministries of Peter and Paul, consists of only one book. What is its significance for us today?
Pauline Epistles and Hebrews.
Thirteen of the epistles (letters) were written by Paul, and were named for the church, group of churches, or individual to whom they were sent. Although the author of Hebrews is not:identified, many believe Paul also authored it.
Romans | 1 Corinthians | 2 Corinthians | Galatians | Ephesians | Philippians | Colossians | 1 Thessalonians | 2 Thessalonians | 1 Timothy | 2 Timothy | Titus | Philemon | Hebrews
Write down any favorite verse you have from any of these books and explain why it is meaningful to you.
General Epistles:
There are seven general epistles, and they are named not for the recipients, but for the authors.
James | 1 Peter | 2 Peter | 1 John | 2 John | 3 John | Jude
Revelation:
The last book of the New Testament is one of prophecy. It describes the end times and the triumph of Christ in His second coming.
++ Mark 13:31-33 (Warning).
"31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
+ 32 But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
33 Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is."
+ Describe the central message of the book (Revelation 22:12-17). What are its promises to those who overcome? (Revelation 2,3)
+ What warning does the writer of this book give? (Revelation 22:18-19)
Life Application:
What new insights about the composition of the Bible have you gained from this study? How will this help you in your daily life?
To know the Bible well and to be able to find scripture references quickly, you should memorize the names of the books in the order in which they appear. Master one group, and then go on to the next.
Focus on one division each week until you have memorized all the books of the Bible. Review these frequently until they are fixed in your mind.
Today, commit to memory the books of the first division, the Pentateuch
+ Remember to Memorize important Bible's Verses (Psalm 119:11, 105).
